Hayatt was founded by an insightful grandmother who was touched by her grandson’s short life to positively impact and serve underprivileged persons who have been afflicted by cancer and more importantly to give them hope and to enlighten their life.

The concept of “Hayatt” dates back to 2003 when its founder Mrs. Ruqayah Abdulwahab Alqatami (Oum Qais Abdullah Thunayan Alghanim) was already involved in charitable work for several years providing medicine and other assistance to patients.

After living through the ordeal of witnessing her own grandson receiving his cancer treatment outside his home country, Oum Qais decided to make a difference to the lives of expatriates with cancer living in Kuwait.

“Hayatt, Ruqayah Abdulwahab Alqatami Breast Cancer Foundation”.  

Specifically, the association provides expensive chemotherapy and other support services at no cost to expatriate cancer patients treated in Kuwait at the national cancer treatment center. Free, high-quality service and support for those in needs are provided regardless of their religion, race, nationality (to date, they have sponsored patients from 27 different countries) or financial status.

While the demands for their services continue to increase, they continue to provide personalized information and support to cancer patients and their families in an atmosphere of warmth and understanding. 

The foundation began its mission with the firm belief that they have a social and humanitarian responsibility toward their community and that they can make a difference for the life of cancer patients in Kuwait.

Hayatt foundation will hold its annual fund raising gala dinner in October 2012 on the occasion of the world breast cancer awareness month.

This is year the gala will be hold at the Sheraton Kuwait , Diamond Ballroom the famous Diva Waad Al Bahri will be performing on this occasion.
